Explore Menotomy Plumbing & Heating’s Commitment to Transparent Estimates
At Menotomy Plumbing & Heating, we believe in transparency and helping you make informed decisions about your plumbing needs. Here’s how our estimate process works:
Virtual Estimates – Free of charge
We offer complimentary virtual estimes via phone, email, text (photos/videos). These are a great starting point for understanding potential costs. However, please note: virtual estimates are based on the information you provide and what is visible. They may not reflect the full scope or cost of the job.
In–Home Assessments – $50 flat fee
For a more accurate and detailed evaluation, we offer in-home assessments: The $50 fee covers our time and expertise if you choose not to proceed with our services. If you hire us for the job, the $50 will be credited toward your final invoice – so it’s essentially free when you move forward with us.
We are committed to fair pricing, honest advice, and quality workmanship.

Discover how our complimentary virtual assessments and thorough in-home evaluations ensure you receive accurate, transparent project estimates tailored to your needs.
Our Estimate & Payment Policy
Step One: Schedule a Virtual Assessment/In-home Assessment
Begin with a free virtual consultation or an In-home assessment where we discuss your project details and provide an initial estimate to guide your decision-making.
Step Two: Accept your Estimate
Next, we will email you your flat fee estimate. You can accept it as is or ask for clarification. Once the estimate is accepted we will send your deposit invoice.
Step Three: Pay your deposit
Finally, once we receive your deposit we will submit the permit request for your city/town. Once your city/town approves the permit request we will schedule your project. The remaining balance is due upon project completion.
Committed to transparency
While we do not list all of our policies online we do believe in giving some information to help you complete your research.
All jobs that require a permit to be pulled within your city/town will require a deposit before work is started.
We cannot begin any work until your city/town approves the permit request.
Why do you pull permits?
The short answer is it’s required (lol). For those that like information here is the spiel. We pull permits to protect you, as well as us. When work is done on a home without permits you could end up in a deep flood of trouble. You may not be able to sell your home or the worst case scenario is, you get a giant leak and flooding. Your insurance company gets involved and says “hey I see you redid your bathroom and the flood happened b/c this pipe was installed wrong. Where is the permit?” Well if you didn’t pull a permit and you didn’t have a licensed plumber complete the work. Your insurance company is not going to cover the claim. Massachusetts plumbing code is extremely intense, and always changing. Having your city/towns inspector come out as a second set of eyes saying “yes that looks good, all set” or “I think you may want another clamp here”.
